Well explained. Further, employee engagement is closely linked with organizational performance and business outcomes. Organizations with engaged employees have higher employee retention, productivity, profitability, business growth, customer loyalty and satisfaction. On the other hand, organizations with disengaged workers suffer from wastage, face increased absenteeism and have less customer satisfaction, less productivity, and reduced net profit margins (Coffman, 2000).
ReplyDeleteI agree that the employee engagement plays a major role in achieving organizational performance (Kompaso and Sridevi,2010). On other hand when an organization is under performing in many instance organizational performance is likely to further go down when a employee are not satisfied and non performing.because organizational performance represent the sum total of employee performance (Paauwe and Boselie,2005).

Kahn (1990) defined it as “the harnessing of organisation members’ selves to their work roles; in engagement, people use and state themselves physically, cognitively, and showing emotion throughout role performances” (Kahn, 1990). It is argued that an eminent definition of worker engagement would determine it because of employees’ positive state of mind, known by their high chance of setting up discretionary efforts to drive the organisation towards its goals (Albrecht, 2010).
